- Enquiries by phone or WhatsApp — when you call or message us, we collect your name and contact details to respond to your enquiry and arrange work.
- Enquiries by email — when you email us, we collect your name, email address and any information you include in your message.
- Website analytics — we use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use our website. This collects anonymised data about pages visited, time on site and approximate location. No personally identifiable information is collected through analytics.
How we use your data
We use the data we collect to:
- Respond to your enquiry and provide a quote
- Arrange and carry out work at your property
- Send Gas Safe certificates and other documentation relating to work carried out
- Contact you regarding follow-up servicing when relevant
- Improve our website through anonymised analytics data

Susie, our AI assistant
We use an AI assistant called Susie to answer calls when we can't get to the phone, and to answer questions on this website. Susie isn't a person, and she says so at the start.
- What we collect — your name, phone number, address or postcode, and what you need help with: the same details we'd take over the phone. On the website we also keep the conversation and which page you were on. Calls are recorded.
- Who else sees it — we use outside suppliers to run our phone line and messaging, to turn speech into text and work out replies, to send our email, and to host our website. They act only on our instructions. If you'd like to know exactly which companies these are, email info@dgngas.com and we'll tell you.
- Why — to answer your enquiry and improve the service. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests.
- How long — we keep call and chat records for up to 12 months. Call recordings are deleted automatically after 30 days.
- Your choices — you don't have to use Susie: phone, email or the contact form all reach us the same way. We don't sell your details and we don't use them for marketing. To have your conversation deleted, email info@dgngas.com.
How long we keep your data
We retain customer records for a period of 6 years in line with HMRC requirements for business records. Gas Safe certificates and compliance documentation are retained in line with Gas Safe Register requirements.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to:
- Request access to the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data (subject to legal retention requirements)
- Object to the processing of your data
